Book Your Dream Flight with Flghts

There’s something about travelling to Los Angeles with Flghts that’s hard to explain until you’ve been there. Maybe it’s the palm trees swaying against golden sunsets or the chance you’ll spot a celebrity ordering coffee.
It’s a city that feels familiar, even if it’s your first time, probably because you’ve seen it in a hundred movies. But trust me, there’s so much more to LA than what you’ve seen on screen.
Honestly, LA is spoilt when it comes to weather. Sunshine is pretty much the norm, which makes planning a trip easier. Summer can be hot and busy, especially around the beaches, but it’s great if you love that buzzing energy. I love spring and fall the weather’s perfect, the crowds thin out a little, and you can get a table at that cool rooftop spot you saw on Instagram.
Landing in LA and Figuring Out the Maze
Chances are you’ll be flying into LAX, and yeah it’s chaotic. But once you’re out of the airport, the real adventure begins. Los Angeles isn’t a “walking city”, so unless you’re sticking to one neighbourhood, getting around can be tricky. Renting a car gives you the most freedom (and air conditioning), but ride shares work great too. Just be ready for traffic. It’s part of the LA experience, like palm trees and overpriced smoothies.
The Must Sees and Movie Moments
Let’s be real you can’t come to LA and not check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame at least once. It's a bit touristy, sure, but there's a certain thrill in spotting your favourite celeb’s star on the sidewalk. From there, take a hike up to Griffith Observatory, where the city views are nothing short of epic. Beverly Hills feels like a movie set, and driving through those leafy streets might make you feel like you’ve made it even if it’s just for a day. And then there's Santa Monica, where the pier lights up at night and the ocean feels endless.
Venice Vibes and Beach Days
If you’re into art, people watching, or just soaking in that quirky, free spirited California energy, Venice Beach is your spot. Street performers, roller skaters, surfers, and artists all share the same stretch of sand and boardwalk. It’s weird, wild, and wonderful. On a chill day, head up to Malibu for a more peaceful beach vibe think cliffside views, tide pools, and maybe a dolphin sighting if you're lucky.
Let’s Talk Food (Because Wow)
One of my favourite things about LA? The food. It’s on another level. One minute you’re grabbing fish tacos from a truck that locals swear by, and the next you’re at a rooftop restaurant downtown eating sushi that rivals Tokyo’s. The city’s food reflects its diversity Korean BBQ in K Town, Oaxacan mole in East LA, fresh Mediterranean bowls in West Hollywood. And don’t sleep on the coffee shops. LA takes its espresso as seriously as its skincare routines.
The Culture Hits Different
There’s more to LA than just pretty views and fancy dinners. If you love art and culture, you’ll be in heaven. The Getty is not just a museum it’s a hilltop retreat with views and gardens that make you forget you’re in the middle of a giant city. LACMA has some of the coolest installations you’ll ever see, and The Broad downtown is a must for contemporary art lovers. And for film buffs, a studio tour is a rite of passage. Walking through sets where your favourite shows were filmed? It’s surreal in the best way.
One thing that surprised me? How many outdoor escapes are right in the city? You can hike up Runyon Canyon and feel like you’re on top of the world or at least on top of LA. Griffith Park is massive, and you can even stumble upon the old LA Zoo ruins tucked inside. Then, when you're ready to cool off, the beaches are always calling. Whether you're into surfing, sunbathing, or just walking barefoot in the sand, there's no shortage of coastline to explore.
A Few Local Lessons Learned
If I could give you one tip: dress in layers. Mornings can be chilly, afternoons warm, and evenings breezy. Parking is a bit of a game (and sometimes a gamble), so read signs carefully unless you want to donate to the city’s parking fine fund. And don’t stress about seeing it all. LA isn’t meant to be rushed. It’s meant to be felt, experienced, and enjoyed at your own pace.
Why LA Will Stick With You
Los Angeles is full of contradictions. It’s fast paced but laid back, glamorous but gritty, huge but deeply personal. It’s the kind of place where one day you’re sipping cold brew next to a movie star, and the next you're hiking solo in the hills, watching the city sprawl out beneath you. It doesn’t ask you to be anything. It just lets you be dreamer, artist, wanderer, or someone just looking for a good taco. That’s the magic of LA. And once you feel it, you’ll want to come back for more. With Flghts, planning your return is just a few clicks away.
